Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

Just a quick note to wish you all a belated Merry Christmas, and wishing you all the best for 2009. Many of us make a variety of new years resolutions, but unfortunately many go astray. Hypnosis is very helpful for keeping you focused on your goals for the year ahead.

We have created a brand new hypnosis downloads site called AllHypnosisDownloads. It contains a vast collaboration of hypnosis audio downloads from some of the finest clinical hypnotherapists around today. Basically, if you can't find a therapy here, it probably doesn't exist! It is very likely that you will be able to find help with whatever goals you have for the year ahead. Please take a look and let me know. The site is still in development, and will contain far more sessions in the future, but already has a very large collection. Take a look, any feedback will be gratefully received!

Wishing you a great 2009 - Jon

Happiness

Most of us spend our lives chasing happiness. We constantly look at things we 'need' in order to be happy. However, according to the research in this video, this is missing the point. To a substantial degree, we can manufacture happiness in our minds by simply accepting things. Those 'grass is always greener' people live in perpetually misery, as they constantly chase something which is 'better' instead of enjoying what they have right here and now.

Interestingly, Dan in the video, shows his findings that after a year, both a lottery winner and a person suffering a disabling accident, return to being as happy as they were previously. To me this says that most of happiness is ultimately all in the mind.

A Nice Quick Vacation

Hello everyone - it's been a while I know. As my brother so amusingly illustrated, I have been whisked away to Morocco. I'm loving every minute of it. I have now settled into my own apartment in Casablanca (In all the bars in all the world - I know) In fact I went into a replica of Rick's bar just the other day - it looked fantastic, just like in the film.

Anyway I thought I would treat you all to a quick holiday. When you imagine something vividly enough, the subconscious cannot tell this from reality. So go with this session, and I promise you that you will feel like you have just been on holiday. Oh yes, if you like this type of thing, we have a specical limited offer. We have just created a swimming with dolphins relaxation session, which is available for just $4.95. That's a saving of $10. Hurry and buy now before the price goes back up!

Moroccan Bound

This is Jake Rhodes, Jon's younger brother with a quick message to all our blog users. Jon is currently in the process of emigrating to Morroco, in fact he should have arrived there a few hours ago.

This is why both blog and website updates have been few and far between recently as this has been a complex affair as I'm sure you can imagine. Jon is moving there with his new wife to start a fresh chapter in their life together. I know that a lot of the motivation for this move came from Jon's wish to study and learn from some of the top African spiritualists.

I just thought I'd pass on that information for Jon since he may not be able to get online for some time while he settles into his new home and surroundings.

In keeping with the Morrocan theme I've found a fun clip for you all of mindbender Derren Brown hypnotising a man in a London photo booth and transporting him to Marrakech, Morocco - leaving the poor man in a very confusing situation

Soothing Music

I thought I would give you something different! Here is some relaxing classical music. There are no meditation or hypnotic voices, or subliminals. Just calming peaceful music. You may wish to use this for self hypnosis or meditation, or even just close your eyes and take some time out listening to the music. Enjoy!

Relaxation Music

I have found some relaxation music on my travels around YouTube. They have subliminal relaxation suggestions in them. Whilst I am not entirely convinced that subliminal suggestions work, the music is worth listening to for its relaxation qualities. What do you think? Let me know what you think about the subliminal voices. Apparently there are 2 - a male and female voice.

HypnoBusters

Sorry for lack of updates lately! My brother and I have been very hard at work with our latest project called HypnoBusters. We encountered a few gremlins with our latest recordings, but have worked hard to put it right! We are aiming to create the ultimate in hypnosis downloads, and we won't settle for anything less than that! This is a very exciting project for us, as we can spend more time and money, ensuring a higher quality therapy session. If we are not happy, then we simply start again from scratch. The cost of the downloads is well worth it when considering we are spending on looking after our well being, and improving our lives. You can also listen to them as many times as you wish.

Another bit of news is that yours truly is planning to move from the UK to Morocco in a few months time. I plan to expand my spiritual well being, and therapeutic skills. I will be travelling and teaching and learning from African healers from many disciplines. This extra knowledge should come across in my recordings, and enhance their therapeutic properties.

Your help would be appreciated. I am using my websites to help fund this. If you feel them useful, then buying some of our recordings from HypnoBusters would greatly help. Also linking to our FreeHypnosisTreatment site from your website, blog, or even facebook account will also help. Please help us spread the word, and create the ultimate in therapy sessions. Thanks.

Here is some very pleasant relaxing music and images, that I have found for you on my travels around the net. Just take some time out, and relax! Enjoy!

Breathing Relaxation

Hello all! It has been a long tme since my last update. We have been working very hard on a new project called HypnoBusters. It is nearly finished. It is basically a paid site for hypnosis audios and scripts. We still fully intend to keep up with the free hypnosis site. However this new paid site allows us to use a much higher budget to produce superior quality recordings. We can justify the costs of a more proffesional production, and more time for attenion to detail. Although these recordings cost, I think they are well worth it. Plus when you have paid for the recording, the download is yours! You can upload it on your IPod or MP3 player, or can burn it to CD. This makes the recordings far more user friendly, as you can listen to them wherever and whenever you want!

Anyway, I have found a very good relaxation recording. It focusses on the breathing, and really does guide you to a state of pleasant relaxation. It is difficult, if not impossible, to feel stressed and angry when you breathing is calm and controlled. Try it fryourself!

Quick Relaxation Video

Here is a quick relaxation video. Many relaxation, meditation, and hypnosis videos have fairly good sound tracks, but pointless visuals. The visuals on this video, I feel, do effectively add to the soothing music. It is less than four minutes long, but does give you a nice gentle break away from it all. If you can't spare 4 minutes from your busy schedule, then it's a poor do isn't it?!

Anyway, enjoy....
(If you like this, you may also enjoy experiencing the water meditation video.)

Happy First Birthday!!!

It is FreeHypnosisTreatment.com's first birthday! I would like to thank everyone for their great support and feedback. We could not have done it without you! Many people have kindly donated , added a link on their blogs or sites to us, or just generally spread the word. To Celebrate we have added a free anxiety hypnosis session to our site. Let us know what you think!

I have also found a video with many positive afirmations. It should help you feel good about yourself. Enjoy!

Relaxation Videos

It is almost 12 months since we launched our free hypnosis site. On the 2 Feb we will have been running for exactly 12 months. I have just completed a relaxation video, which I will post on 2nd Feb. It is simple, but very effective - at least I think so!!! Hopefully with your continued support, I will be able to fund making some more amitious relaxation videos in the future.

In the meantime, here is a nice slow relaxing video that I found on YouTube. Well worth 10 minutes of your time...

Frequently Asked Questions On Hypnosis

Due to misinformation, there are many people with many fears about using hypnotherapy. I hope to help put people's minds at rest by answering some common questions. If you wish to ask anything else, then feel free to comment bellow, or visit our hypnosis forum.

Can I be hypnotized?
Most people can go into a hypnotic trance. The only types of people that cannot be hypnotised are …
1. Those suffering from psychosis or a thought disorder
2. A person with a low IQ
3. A person does not want to be hypnotised. It is very easy to resist hypnosis if you want to.

What is a hypnotic trance?
It is a normal and natural state that most of us experience several times a day. It commonly happens when people are driving. Have you ever driven somewhere and not really remembered the journey? It also often occurs when reading a book or watching TV. Sometimes you can be so absorbed in the book or TV programme that you are not consciously aware that someone is talking to you. Hypnosis is the focussing of the conscious attention in such a narrow corridor of influence. The conscious mind is so intensely focussed that other influences are not being critically analysed by the conscious mind. We still hear them, although we are not always aware. A good example of this is when you are in a place where there are several conversations going on at once. They may all sound like a mass of background noise. However if someone in one of those conversations mentions your name, you then consciously focus on that conversation. How did you know someone said your name? Your subconscious mind (which is far more powerful than your conscious mind) was listening to EVERY conversation AT THE SAME TIME! That is perhaps a reason why you can sometimes “just know” something. Your subconscious mind has absorbed it without you consciously being aware.

What does hypnosis feel like?
When in a trance you feel more mentally and physically relaxed. It is a very pleasant experience, and you can tell that you are still in control. You can still hear exactly what is going on around you, unless you choose to drift your attention away. You become aware that you can easily stand up, talk, or move whenever you want. A lot of people (me included) when they first experience a hypnotic trance move their fingers or hands in order to test whether they can move at will. Sometimes a patient can be a little difficult to wake up. This is not a sinister thing as it has been portrayed. No one has ever been stuck in trance. It is more a case that a patient just “can’t be bothered” to wake up as it feels so pleasant. However they soon become bored and will wake up pretty soon. One trick the old hypnosis pro’s use is to tell the patient that they are charging for the time. It’s amazing how quickly they then wake up!

Is hypnosis dangerous?
A hypnotic trance is actually a very natural state that almost everyone goes into several times per day. In 1955 the British Medical Association set up an inquiry which favourably reported hypnosis as a therapeutic tool. It even recommended that it should be taught at medical schools. Hypnosis was also approved by the Council of Mental Health of the American Medical Association in September of 1958 as a safe practice with no harmful side effects. Since then there has been acceleration in the establishment of hypnosis societies for doctors, dentists, and psychologists. No one has been seriously hurt with hypnosis.

Can I be made to do things against my will?
You could never be made to do anything against your will or contrary to your value system. If this was actually possible, would there not be criminals learning the art of hypnotherapy in order to hypnotise their bank managers to opening the vaults and handing over a large sum of cash?! In a trance, you would not unknowingly reveal your deepest secrets. You can even lie when in a trance, which is one reason why testimony in hypnosis is not permissible evidence in a court of law. It is only used by police to help with the investigation. A person will only act upon suggestions that serve them in some way or reinforce an expected behaviour, anything else their subconscious will just ignore. Most people develop these misperceptions from seeing or hearing about a Stage Hypnosis show. However they largely achieve their results from showmanship, selection of the more extrovert people, and peer pressure.

How long will it take before I notice a change?
In one session, you can expect to become more relaxed than you are right now. Most people do not relax enough, and some people never seem to relax! Being more relaxed can help most mental and physical problems that you may have. I have often had patients report back to me that people noticed that they seemed more relaxed after just one session. In the past I have significantly helped problems such as IBS, skin complaints, and addictions, simply by doing relaxation work.
Hypnosis can bridge the gap between your head and your heart, making your goals much more emotionally compelling, and therefore increasing your chances of permanent change. Depending upon the intensity of your session and the number of times you have listened to the recording, you will notice suggestions for the desired behavioural changes spontaneously popping into your conscious mind almost immediately.
